Aerostich Recalls Flourescent Hi-Viz Roadcrafter & Darien

Aerostich has issued a recall of its Roadcrafter and Darien products in "fluorescent high-viz lime yellow" sold between August 1, 2007 and September 1, 2008 due to excess fading.  In so doing, Aerostich has taken the extraordinary measure of notifying owners of those products by mail.  Although the fading doesn't affect the strength or durability of the material, owners are nonetheless given the option of returning the garment for a new replacement garment in the "old" Hi-Viz or in any other color, or for a full refund. Aerostich even has a plan in place to enable owners to retain their current garmet until the replacement arrives!  Aerostich says that the replacement Hi-Viz color garments use a more fade resistant material and are similar to the color used in Hi-Viz garments produced between 1998 and 2006. Swatches of the replacement and discontinued versions of the Hi-Viz are included in the letters sent to owners.  The manner in which Aerostich is handling this situation solidifies its position as one of the very best vendors/manufacturers of motorcycle products.  Full information can be found on Aerostich's website here.
